Wrong Painting (July), 2010
looks like Wrong Painting (July) is a re-working of the above Wrong Thing, 2009... from the show at Museum 52 with Joe Bradley.

Sarah Braman, Indian Summer Home, 2008 - almost invisible with plexi, doubled by mirror.
To the left of the rising sun, at Small A Projects summer UPSTATE NY show, in Greenwich, Washington County. This was a shocker for me. I live here. This is a small town of 5,000, about an hour north of Albany. I work on a farm. NEVER expected to see a Sarah Braman here.
Sarah Braman, Indian Summer Home, 2008 - this is the other side... a floating (leaping) facade, flat and joyful... no hint of the boxiness, complexity and depth created by the mirror, plexi, and reflections.
Corin Hewitt, Strong Hold, 2009
Corinn Hewitt, detail of Strong Hold.
Liked his work in a 7/05 D'Amelio Terras show - My favorites here were the two collages by Corin Hewitt. Really weird.
Bill Jenkins, Thicket, 2006 - rimmed with pale minty green, looks like it is speeding through hyperspace on the pegboard.
Bill Jenkins, No Title, 2009 - spraypaint on corner wall.
Small A Projects' Laurel Gitlen.
To the left of the rising sun is open Thursday-Saturday noon-six, through August 16th. THERE WILL BE A CLOSING RECEPTION August 16th.

Joe Bradley, Bax, 2009 - Crooked door, top hat, leaning building. I don't know what Bax means, but he makes good titles... one of the paintings from the Schmagoo show was called Abelmuth, which is probably a reference to the Dick novel Radio Free Albemuth... don't know if Bradley's re-spelling is intentional or was a typo.
Jason Fox presented a copy of Radio Free Albemuth in the display case at his recent Peter Blum show... Fox was included in Bradley's Peanut Gallery.
Joe Bradley and Sarah Braman at Museum 52.
Sarah Braman, Wrong Thing, 2009
Sarah Braman, Love Lock Future, 2009
Sarah Braman, July Again, 2009
Joe Bradley is also currently included in the Steve DiBenedetto-curated show at David Nolan. I don't think I'll get a chance to see it, but it looks good... lots of interesting artists including Tony Feher, Malcolm Morley, Larry Poons. Steve DiBenedetto's show at SUNY Albany was fantastic.
Took this photo at Tony Feher's current show in the front room at D'Amelio Terras... nice... sort of like one of Lynda Benglis's glittery twisties. Red + Blue is always nice. Plus, saw Tony Feher at Bennington early this month... more red and blue - (buckets) - suspended from the ceiling.

She had the whole booth, and it looked great. I was talking to her and sort of captivated because it looked so good with two pieces in the background on either side, but our attention(s) were diverted before I could get a picture.
I saw her Museum 52 show last year, and the smart two-person show with Joel Shapiro at Andrea Rosen, and the piece at Artist's Space a couple weekends ago... liking it more and more each time.

John Torreano, at Feature... big mixed-bag show of Feature's painters. I liked this and the Richard Rezac.
Adrian Ting and Zach Needler, at Feature opening. Zach has a show up right now at Christopher Henry.
