Has anyone thought about or looked into making their artblog a nonprofit? Not an artblog that is an extension of an already existing nonprofit organization, but getting a nonprofit designation for the artblog itself?
Or what about creating some sort of nonprofit artblog group, which could include any artblog, non-profit or not? If NADA can do it, artblogs should certainly qualify.
Just curious.
Dear Mr. Bromirski,
ReplyDeleteVery interesting question.
As a matter of fact, I am currently in the very early stages of pursuing not for profit 501(c) 3 status for my Littoral Art Project blog, ANTI-OPTIONS 05 - http://www.antioptions05.blogspot.com
The mission of this not for profit blog will be to educate the public on the issue of Freedom of Artistic Expression and to pursue fundamental reforms in the legal structure, operations and policies of the WPA/Corcoran Association, a not for profit 501(c) 3 organization.
The process of obtaining a 501(c) 3 Letter of Determination is lengthy and involved. I will keep you advised as this project advances.
Sincerely,
James W. Bailey
