i don't know that they are code or not, but something like that is probably happening. he's really into language, and sends e-mails in a kind of code.
if you go to his website he has a page full of things he says and writes, and explains what he means. i (almost) thought his first e-mail was junk-mail, except the name was familiar from comments on vic and jered's work.
also, i got an e-mail from another artist talking a little about anthony, saying -
"i read your post on anthony fineran and the work (and seemingly unstable condition) reminded me of another artist named charles benefiel. he's been labeled outsider and was in a fantastic (i mean breathtaking) show i saw at the american folk life museum last year entitled obsessive drawing"
i wouldn't label finerman an outsider artist... but, i have to go now. i'll come back later. i have to go now...
I have a piece of work by Anthony - we did an exchange sometime back. he is a great guy with a good sense of humour and we both have a love for low res computer graphics (like those done on the Amiga years ago). Great post.
there are more things i want to post, but these paintings look too good to push down the page.
ReplyDeletethese are great, I am curious are they code? what do ya know about these?
