Lady Pink

Lady Pink, at Ad Hoc Art.... right next door to the good coffee shop I am forgetting the name of.... also within easy walking distance of Pocket Utopia.

I can't believe she isn't that much older than me.... she's been around so long. This work is all new, some (most?) dated 2008. You can get one of these for less than half the price of a Judith Supine... I don't get the art market pricing system (I'm saying that as a fan of Judith Supine).

Five Points. Here's a bigger better view.

PLUS: Really liked the 1983 collaborative piece (with Jenny Holzer) she had in I Am As You Will Be, at Cheim & Reid last fall -

Lady Pink and Jenny Holzer
Lady Pink and Jenny Holzer, Tear ducts seem to be a grief provision, 1983

More Jenny Holzer + Lady Pink images here.... and here's a good image of one. Ilona Granet did the lettering for Jenny. I'm not sure how it works credit-wise, who the "artist" is... the Cheim & Read show label said the piece was by Jenny Holzer and Lady Pink, the Monika Spruth Philomene Magers listing says they are by Holzer, with credit to Granet for the lettering and no credit to Pink. Lady Pink's paintings are AWESOME... - from anaba 2/26/2008

  3. since yesterday at 3pm i have -

    - went to a storage locker nearby here and filled a large cargo van with a million boxes of papers

    - drove boxes of papers to a company in albany, unloaded them on 8th floor

    - rode down to ny with someone and met two people about a "route". meeting was in rite aid and dunkin donuts. was in all the boroughs except mahattan.

    - continued to philadelphia, or really somewhere in nj across from philadelphia, slept in a motel

    - went to storage facility in morning and loaded van with 90 fifty pound bags of flour.

    - drove to long island with flour and delivered to the basement of a pizza shop

    - went into manhattan. friend had a meeting at 2 park avenue, said it would be an hour, i stupidly walked to chelsea. visited a couple 10th avenue galleries very quickly (bore), then ran/walk back to van. if you saw someone running around that area covered in white powder, it was me.

    - waited an hour and half at van for friend to return from meeting. aargh. could have stayed in chelsea.

    - returned to philadelphia/camden storage locker and loaded van with remaining 96 fifty pound bags of flour.

    - went to a second pizza place in long island and unloaded 75 bags... then returned to the first pizza place and delivered remaining bags.

    - drove to queens for some kind of pick-up.

    - drove back to here, about an hour north of albany.
