ReplyDeleteInteresting, thanks -- got this bookmarked.
ReplyDeleteHey Martin, saw your excellent grouping of works at Digging Pitt yesterday. I enjoyed in particular the materiality you seem to toy with, and the interesting lugubrious kind of treatment you've got going in some of them. Was that a metal-flake paint I'm recalling now?
Hope you're enjoying autumn. Cheers - B
bill - thanks. lugubrious is a geat word. all the paint is acrylic.
ReplyDeletedid you get any pictures of the installation?
Ah -- no, sadly I didn't bring a camera. RATS. Susan Constanse has likely photographed it. I bet you she'd email a link to some pics.
ReplyDeleteRATS. another good word.
ReplyDeleterats is the word.

I enjoy reading your blog. I especially like the comments on rejection. Most of us artists/writers constantly get rejected, but it seems to be a kind of a taboo subject, like an admission of oh, no, personal failure.
