A sculpture on each bed... the palette matched the room, balanced on glass(?), the foam was hardened somehow... I went to Regina Rex the next day these were so good.

Gary Snyder Gallery, at Armory Show... in the Modern section... great booth. I liked it so much I later went to the gallery in Chelsea and saw a good Max Gimblett show.

George Sugarman - loved his double-show at Washburn a couple years ago... he is now represented by Gary Snyder.

Sven Lukin - this is the artist with the super-cool Logan's Run piece in the fantastic Empire State Plaza collection.

Armory Show 2012

The Armory Show, 2012 - pretty much a dud this year. All the good galleries I am used to seeing are waiting for Frieze week. There were a lot of 'filler' galleries, making the Armory nothing special and definitely not cool.

BUT here are some highlights!


Thomas Ovlisen, at V1 Gallery. They are reversible and up-endable... it's OK to pick them up and turn them around.

This was part of the Nordic section, but he shows in NYC with Klaus von Nichtssagend... his show Tomato just closed... I have some fun pics on my flickr.

Bjarne Melgaard - the Armory was so lame I am showing a sofa...

He is currently included in the Brucennial... hey btw, way before there was a Brucennial there was an Art Basel: Stuffy's!! He also had a solo show at Nonesuch - one of the best RVA galleries ever.
