Regina Silvers - of the Granny Peace Brigade.

Bernard Klevickas - keepin' it freaky.

He has a show at Orchard Windows Gallery thru 3/25.

Bernard was the organizer of this Fountain booth, with a lot of help from CJ Nye, Peggi Pugh, and MORE.

Jeffrey Allen Price with his dirty-sponge map of the world (this is actually the reverse).

He is a fellow potato freak!

Barbara Coleman - here's a better image.

The Dependent

Tamara Gonzales, with James Fuentes.

The Dependent Art Fair, the one-day art fair at the Comfort Inn.

Each of these three artists has a current show up... all good... I will post photos soon: Tamara Gonzalez at Norte Maar, Michael Mahalchick at Canada, Dave Hardy at Regina Rex.

1-Day Bed-In.

Michael Mahalchick and Debbie Tuch, with Canada. I youtubed it.

Dave Hardy, with Regina Rex.

A sculpture on each bed... the palette matched the room, balanced on glass(?), the foam was hardened somehow... I went to Regina Rex the next day these were so good.

Lisa Beck, at Feature... okay yeah almost all my Independent pics are Feature.

Andrea Bergart did the wall... she has spent a lot of time in Ghana... she and another girl did a really good art rap but I can't find it!!

Joe Ballweg
Margit Lewczuk w/Andrea Bergart.

Gary Snyder Gallery

Sven Lukin, Tucson, 1966

Gary Snyder Gallery, at Armory Show... in the Modern section... great booth. I liked it so much I later went to the gallery in Chelsea and saw a good Max Gimblett show.

Thomas Downing - ah okay, I am looking at my previous Armory posts and seeing I have featured this gallery before... Thomas Downing, at Armory w/Gary Snyder, 2009.

Ron Johnson??? Waht! Totally unexpected nice surprise. One of my favorite RVA artists.

(+ Gary Snyder represents Al Loving... another favorite)

Armory Show 2012

Nicole Eisenman, at Susanne Vielmetter.

The Armory Show, 2012 - pretty much a dud this year. All the good galleries I am used to seeing are waiting for Frieze week. There were a lot of 'filler' galleries, making the Armory nothing special and definitely not cool.

BUT here are some highlights!

Thomas Ovlisen, at V1 Gallery. They are reversible and up-endable... it's OK to pick them up and turn them around.

This was part of the Nordic section, but he shows in NYC with Klaus von Nichtssagend... his show Tomato just closed... I have some fun pics on my flickr.

Arlene Shechet, at Jack Shainman, being visited by Glenn Lowry.

Bjarne Melgaard - the Armory was so lame I am showing a sofa...

(this was actually a very good all-Melgaard booth)

Eric Doeringer

- I didn't take any photos but the Tony Matelli mirrors with Leo Koenig were good.

He is currently included in the Brucennial... hey btw, way before there was a Brucennial there was an Art Basel: Stuffy's!! He also had a solo show at Nonesuch - one of the best RVA galleries ever.

Paul D'Agostino, at Norte Maar.

Really like these. They are all triptychs... some kind of language thing happening. He's a poet/translator.
