Old smokestack from the original factory used as the base.

Everything gets re-used and recycled at this museum; things from the factory and town end up in the art, things from one artist's exhibition get repurposed for another exhibition (Jenny Holzer's window blockers become masking for Katharina Grosse, Christoph Buchel's abandoned theatre seating gets used to view Guy Ben-Ner work). Many of the current guards and attendants are former factory employees.

This place is a treasure.

kind of pathetic to see people getting ridiculously outraged over who was excluded sixty years ago while in the HERE AND NOW fawning over JS, who has written 18 single artist reviews/features on contemporary artists in the past two+ years, with only three of them on women (two on the same woman, abramovic).

feels like pieces should move, like that rotation you do with your arms when you play train. clumsy angel in the background, with marble wings and glass halo.

Patrick Hill at Bortolami 2007, on anaba (late) 2/26/2008 - the glass pieces were set up to fall and smash... there was a mobile with cement and glass... he used beet juice to stain canvas.

lots of doubles paired... they are screenprints so the doubles are exactly the same, even the mis-registrations or whatever it's called.


some of them are cool to look at like those images where the negative/positive space flip-flops, when two faces make a vase if you squint.
