Jamison Brosseau
Jamison Brosseau Studio.
Jamison working...
Looks like a painting of a vessel, that looks like a spider... it's flat but I'm imagining volume... I keep thinking of Mary Heilmann talking about painting her ceramics.

it's startling that he can make these look so startling because they seem ordinary but are in fact kind of savage and intense. they really reach out and claim freedom for their imagery and process. They are very now, showing a debt to Heilmann and others, including oddly, LeWitt, but are not academic. love the repetition and the rote colors.
Thanks for turning me (us) on to Jamison Brosseau's work, Martin. I hadn't previously known of it and my initial response is excitement and that it's very good.
Native American iconography/style meets Andre Butzer. These look awesome. They seem very dry, the paint seems dry. Excellent.
like 'em.
There's a Morris Yarowsky vibe to what's happening here. Very cool.
