Barb Choit had some nice studio set-up photos of lights in a show at Lisa Cooley last year; can't find my photos of them. Erin Shireff is up now at Lisa Cooley - right down the street from Uffner - also an excellent show. Both shows run through December 20th.

The radiator. I liked, earlier in the winter, how Amy Yao's raindrop piece was over that radiator while it hissed and popped and made all sort of watery sounds; it seemed like an intentional part of the installation.

Hey, if you click the Rachel Uffner label below you might conclude that she is looking for a good artist who does something with hats.

Roger White is the first show at this new gallery... Rachel Uffner has taken over the disbanded Orchard space. A few of the Orchard members might be starting a new place in Harlem.


This is the third painting from the left in the installation photo above, it's small. I like the traces of white on top signifying the unopened perforated oval, the gold arches and bow on the side, and how the print pattern sort of falls over the edge of the box (click the image to see it bigger).
