Martin, do you like Leonora Carrington? I stumbled upon her work many years ago and was immediately smitten. Although I know very little about their biographies, her and Gertrude were contemporaries and appear to have been drinking from the same fountain. If you haven't seen much of her stuff, I'd recommend looking her up at the library. My quick search of the internet failed to produce any of my favorite works.

yes, i've seen carrington's work. she was married to max ernst for a while, too. is she stil alive?? i thnik she might be.
another one, more surreal, is remedius varo.
there are/were so many good artists in so many places. everywhere.
