Paul DiPasquale
Paul DiPasquale's Neptune, installed at Virginia Beach. This thing is awesome.. look at how Neptune is palming that turtle! That turtle is like, "Uh oh, I am about to get DUNKED".
Some interesting comments left on that last post on Paul DiPasquale. Bill Gusky said it reminded him of Ray Harryhausen flicks from the '60's... Beq mentioned Salvador Dali, probably in reference to his Dream of Venus.
I am still impressed thinking about how he got the Arthur Ashe statue up. What would DiPasquale do here? Neptune kind of reminds me of Puppy.

Have you read Confederates in the Attic? Great book, nice section on the Arthur Ashe statue debates.
Darshan Jhaveri VCU Crafts metals grad and his Girlfriend Jill fabricated this bit of VA Beach finery for the artist..thought they deserved some props...of course I can't remember Jill's last name, but at least everyone will know that Jill and Dashan made this piece
Hi Jacq,
Just so you know Jill Holland was head bronze welder of three on the job and Darsh welded stainless steel with two others and chased: Neptune is 12 1/2 tons of bronze and 3 tons of stainless; it took 6 of us 4 months to put the 15 pieces shipped from the China foundry together;60 tons of rock was contracted out by me, Paul DiP
