Travis Conner and Don Crow are both showing in Richmond this month!
Excited because I just found out that Travis Conner is showing at Nonesuch this month... I was really into his show at Chop Suey.
Also... Don Crow is one of three artists - with Greg Carbo and Amie Oliver - currently exhibiting at Plant Zero. This is another artist I had a great first encounter with.

I remember in 95 or so DOn Crow first showed his collages of corrugated cardboard and many people didn like them. Brilliant. Still the best in Richmond. Lacking the complacency and faux patina that defines our town and eveyone else everywhere in art and music too, except for Matisse.
Havent seen the new show.
Great that you mentioned MAtisse in yr old post on Don. I've always been troubled about Matisse';s "armchair: statement. But the great painter John Zurier says its about generosity.
Anyway we need to remember that when he wrote it in 1908 it must have seemed almost ironic because his paintings seemed insane.
Is it wrong to like something?
